Dr. Rukia Atikiya is PhD holder in Business Administration specializing in Strategic Management (JKUAT). A holder of MBA (Strategic Management) and Bachelor of Business and Office Management (BBOM), Ms Rukia teaches management and strategic management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT). Rukia is interested in exploring the critical link between strategic management and empowerment of marginalized women through sustainable economic ventures. Rukia has undertaken a number consultancy and training assignments in development of organizational systems and procedures as well as strategic plan development. Drawing on her experiences in teaching and working with pastoralist communities of Northern Kenya, she is interested in seeking and advancing knowledge in the areas of strategy development and execution within the context of resource-deprived segments of communities such as women and youth. As a founder of Solutions for Women Organization (SWO) NGO, Rukia strives to utilize her skills and expertise towards uplifting the lives of women and children through entrepreneurial skills development and strategic management. Dr.Rukia is a member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
