Most enterprises do not lack opportunity. They lack the systems to capture it.

In Kenya alone, 7.41 million micro, small and medium enterprises employ 14.9 million people and generate 33.8% of national output, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics 2016 MSME Survey. Yet only 1.56 million of them are licensed, and about 2.2 million businesses closed in the five years before the survey. Many enterprises still run on weak internal systems, informal processes and the knowledge of one or two people.

The result is predictable. Lenders decline poorly documented applications, buyers move to more reliable suppliers, and growth stalls at the first shock. Sustainable growth comes from a deliberate system: clear strategy, sound processes, investor-ready documentation and strong market linkages.

Micro, small and medium enterprises

Formalizing operations, building investor-ready plans and records, and reaching new buyers and markets.

Large enterprises

Strengthening supplier networks and value chains, streamlining operations and meeting ESG expectations from investors and buyers.

Enterprise support programmes

Helping governments, development finance institutions and business associations design and deliver support that changes how enterprises perform.

Our approach

From diagnosis to growth

The PRASOL Enterprise Growth Cycle runs in five steps. Each step has a clear owner, from the owner or board to management, and a measurable output.

  1. Diagnose

Assess operations, governance, finances, markets and digital maturity with the owner and team, and identify the gaps that hold growth back.

  2. Plan

Agree a strategic or business plan, priority actions and growth targets that match the market and the enterprise's stage.

  3. Strengthen

Re-engineer core processes in HR, finance, procurement, IT and governance, and introduce fit-for-purpose digital tools.

  4. Connect

Link the enterprise to buyers, value chains, lenders and investors, with investor-ready documentation and pitch coaching.

  5. Track

Monitor sales, productivity, jobs and investment through KPIs and dashboards, with periodic reviews against targets.

Each review feeds the next cycle. Targets are reset, systems are refined and new market and finance opportunities are pursued.
